 Post subject: What should I have in my rucksack?

As a newbie what should I ideally have in a rucksack or bumbag for a day greenlaning in Essex

I carry

tools
tie wraps
spare goggles
high vis jacket
drinks and snacks
small first aid kit (never used it, thanksfully!)
pump
large number plate (for when the old bill take exception to my small one)
maps and proof of legality of most lanes (council documents etc)

Oh that tyreweld stuff might come in handy

I keep meaning to get some, bodge repair for a puncture to get you home/somewhere to be picked up

Not really had much luck with tyre weld as most puncutres tend to be from the rim whilst running on low'ish pressure.
This tends to leave two splits and tyre weld won't work !

Still for the sake of four quid and the room it takes up in the sac.....you never know.

I trashed a perfectly good tyre once crabbing home on a flat

On the bike I have a full tool kit, tow strap & jump leads (DRZ has no kicker)

just a word of advice, if you break down off road and the bike cant be recovered to the raod using a tow rope or two you will be liable to pay addtional charges for specialist recovery equipment. hopefully you can get a friend to tow you to the main road.

i've had a few cars that have come down as stuck or bogged in a ditch and you get there and there are on there roof :o
