Very capabable bike - some say it is the best bike to have for trail riding..........

I have an older one, 2T 98 model, I'm glad I do to as they sometimes get knocked about a bit, especially if your new to the trails.

the F is a full on Enduro / Mx Bike. 5 valve engine, high maintaiance - IE oil change every 30 hours / clean air filters - No Warrenty

The R / X are based on a different engine to the F, the R is a trails version the X is a Supermoto. the engine has 3000 mile service interval, and has a full yam warrenty....

There was a good review of the R in the Oct TBM... they said with some small mods if is a great trails bike....

Wont be so good on an enduro / mx track as the F

After all the great reports I have read it sounds like the WRR is worth it if you can afford it.
If you are looking to keep it for a long time it will be good value too.
They will last a lot longer than an enduro bike and perform better on the roads and perfect on the trails just not as good on MX and Enduro tracks but still capable enough to give you thrills there if you are not competing.
The R is a very low maintenance bike too which is a bonus.
As said before the F is more focused and great fun to ride just crap on the roads and a little higher maintenance.
All depends on you really and how the bike will be used etc.
Yamahas are very reliable bikes and the build quality is superb.
Good luck whatever you get :D

Well my mate and I will be looking for a bike each so we will be looking to buy something cheaper to begin with that will get abused due to us being newbies. We are off to Thailand for xmas and new year so we will hopefully find a bike each in jan/feb. Will be looking for something up to 2k

£3K for an 09 WR250R with 148 miles on the clock

Buy it man and ship it over to Cambridgeshire so I can buy it off you!!!!

Unless it's near Cambridgeshire in which case if you don't want it which dealers is it in?

Cheers

Richard
