I'm new here so hello all!

I'm very glad to have joined you as I consider the campaigning you do to be invaluable. My subscription will follow soon but first things first........a suitable bike! I have two BMW's but have only really ridden them on tarmac due to their power and weight and my lack of ability. In looking for a bike suitable for both my daughter and I to learn to ride off-tarmac (her in a field and me attempting to follow you ladies and gents), I believe that I have finally settled on the Honda CRF230F. As the bike will be a birthday present for us both, it would be nice for my daughter (and me if I admit it) if it were as new looking as possible. So, if anyone has a little-used, original CRF230F that is gathering dust which they are prepared to sell, please let me know. Road registered or not is fine by me. I'm imagining the bike will probably be 2007 onward.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

******UPDATE****** Now looking for an XR250R - please see new thread 18.5.2013.

Where are you in the country? I have been toying with the idea of replacing mine.

Hello Jewikey. My time is split, usually fairly evenly, between London and Shropshire.

Hi I was thinking of changing my drz for a CRf but after speaking to 3 bike mechanics they have all told me to steer clear of crf so I suggest you ask some mechanics I was told to stick to my drz or wr for reliability

The earlier 250/450 engines have had there problems but these air cooled 230 engines are bullet proof! I done my home work on these and am more than happy with the bike and its reliability.
