I did something for our group with the main bullet points on both sides of a laminated A6 card to keep in your pocket or camel back. Details are here but obviously you use it at your own risk!

If we can get an official TRF version, even better. :D

Hi Tony,

Areyou happy for me to make this available via the website members area files. Obviously with the disclaimer.

I will suggest we have an official version probably based on yours as a model

Regards

Simon

There can't be anything too drastic as I have run it by bozzie a couple of times, but obviously I am keen to know if anything needs changing. With this kind of thing it is always difficult knowing what to include and what to cut out, bearing in mind it is supposed to be a "simple" guide on a small A6 card.

The other guides I have seen (such as the LARA one) are good but quote big chunks of the legislation and it may not be practical to ask the officer to hang fire while you read through a 4 page essay.

It almost has to be bullet points to jog your memory but you need to have read all the background stuff first.

Tony,

The information on your site is OK. The only part that needs stressing is that the alarm or annoyance has been caused or 'is likely to be caused'. That is, it may e that a member of the public does not actually have to be present. Therefore a subjective test.

As a pocket guide, I think it is fine. We could go into war and peace, but that I think would defeat the object.

The bottom line is that most officers are issuing without realising that they have to first show/prove that an offence of careless/dangerous driving has occurred or an offence under s34 has occurred. They seem to issue because they believe that alarm, annoyance has been caused or is likely to be caused. This on it's own is not sufficient to trigger the warning.

Andy,

If you want to send me a pm with your thoughts that would be good.

Bozz
