Thanks guys! Good work.

We need to spread this messsage far and wide because we need a good response. We can be sure that our opponents will be making their views well known (not least because we know they read this forum so will now be aware that there are a considerable number of objections being raised).

Regards Mikes point, yes I agree. Not everyone feels capable of writing a long or complicated letter/Email of objection so a simple three line "I would like to register my objection" etc is perfectly valid.

Having said that I certainly wouldn't say that content is irrelevant. Personally I believe that we do need better green lane management in the Peak District and we should be promoting alternatives but I've said it before and I'll say it again,

THIS IS NOT MANAGEMENT THIS IS CRIMINALISATION!

Adopting this blanket ban on a permanent basis would be lazy, spiteful, vindictive and ultimately counter productive.

Many of the problems of the area in recent years (as elsewhere) have been exacerbated by the loss of access arrising from NERC. If the authority simply respond to these issues by closing even more lanes then use of the rest can only increase causing more conflict and problems.

This will just cause a viscous circle effect that will spiral on downward until there is no viable legal network left in the Peaks and we are all forced to ride illegally. Quite how the PDNPA will manage the situation then is anyones guess.

What's needed is a sensible management approach that seeks to balance the interests of all legitimate users on the most popular and important routes. Unfortunately this seems to be the one thing that no one is talking seriously about.

Seems that as usual the politics has got in the way of the common sense. Which is of course why reasoned argument on its own is not enough to win the day!

So come on folks get objecting!

Regards

Richard

Have also copied Richards post onto Adventure Bike Rider Forum,it would be helpfull if others could post a comment from time to time to keep it on the first page,ABR is so busy and all the postings go onto one place it doesnt take long for a posting to drop off the 1st page.

Good point Tony, I feel that we do need to push this issue.

The matter certainly wont be over and done with by the end of this month but the opportunity for any formal objection will be so for at least as long as it takes to ensure that everyone who cares knows and has had an opportunity to respond we need to keep this in the fore front of peoples minds.

Regards

Richard
