In recent years we have made much progress in getting the TRF's message that we are responsible users of the countryside out to a wider audience than our traditional biker / "off road rider" community.

Our presence at BBC Countryfile Live in Blenheim is booked Thurs 3rd/ Sunday 6th August - this will allow us to reach us out to the mainstream countryside loving public.

In addition to this event, and to reach a high level of influencers including countryside landowners and farmers, we are now looking at a last minute opportunity to attend The Gamefair, previously run by the CLA, at Hatfield House Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July.

http://www.thegamefair.org

With the stand and much of the marketing effort ready fo the Countryfile show, this could be simple to do logistically. The only critical issue is to provide enough TRF volunteers to cover the events across these dates and a request to Group Chairs was sent out by Event Manager Tom Carnell last Friday.

We are particularly looking for Trail Riders who have a countryside background and / or don't necessarily fit the public's perception of an "off road rider". Female trail riders are particularly welcome to help represent the TRF and help show our diversity.

We will of course cover tickets and all expenses fo your contribution to the event, and the plan is with plenty of volunteers we should all have time to enjoy the show. Tom Carnell is doing a rota to allow for plenty of show breaks across the day.

If you can volunteer for any of this dates - with Hatfield or Blenheim please let us know at Countryfile@trf.org.uk

We have left this topic open for the convenience of any volunteers to ask questions or confirm interest - please let us have your full name email and phone number in any replies.

Tom, as you know I have expressed and interest in helping out at Hatfield and am pondering Countryfile... As the missus has rowed back from an original interest in tagging along while I did some work... has anyone got a recommendation for a sensibly priced campsite near Bleinheim Palace??

We took a couple of the free tickets and had a superb day out, it was like a county show except much better! I think we discovered why we hardly ever see anyone else out enjoying the country lanes - they're all at shows like this!
Denise had a go at Terrier racing with one of our French Bulldogs against a whole load of other random dogs. They all strained to get free to chase the lure, I thought there was going to be the biggest dog fight ever but they all just ran around in total confusion the moment they were released!

Stand looked very professional but in a big open setting like that there was nothing big and obvious to attract the eye. Really needed a fully dressed GS with lights blazing clambering over a pile of rocks or logs or something. We didn't even notice it till we were really close. It works really well at an indoor show but needs something different for this sort of thing.

Hope the people actually manning it had as good a time as we did and actually got to see some of the show!

Glad you enjoyed the show.
Thanks for taking the time to come along and for your comments.

The feedback received so far has been that the TRF has never looked better at a show and we are keen to get new creative ideas to improve further and build on the success of our presentation this year. I have along list of improvements from the volunteer team and Tom Carnell the event manager.

A project like this normally has a corporate budget of tens of thousand of pounds. We work to budgets of a few hundred.

Despite financial constraints we like the TRF to punch above our weight and deliver presentation improvements though the generous work of our volunteers and creativity like you have mentioned.

Tom Carnell Glos TRF with event management and stand position.
Rupert Trigg Norfolk TRF for the new TRF banners
Gary Wrench with the truss system that lifted the whole stand www.codeav.com
Stuart Ward for the TRF desk & TV unit

It would be great to have your idea on stand for our next show at Motorcycle live at the NEC or even next summers events. Let me know if you are up for arranging this and what resources you would need to create a eye catching display.
