:? Hi you lot in Devon,
Here in deepest Kent [TREK] we are hoping to host a newbe's day for the local Advanced Motorcyclist group [EKAM] to give them an idea what trail riding is about. This will be held on private land. The problem is finding insurance for the day.[just in case ?].
The idea is for some of our guys to lend their bikes to the EKAM members and offer advice and tips on riding off road around a field and in some woods. which are owned by one of our members.
Can you point us in the right direction re: insurance. Many thanks.
Dave Rolfe. Kent TRF. ;) 8-)

You can try and get a copy of the insurance we have with the BMF. Talk to the National committee folk. We (Northumbria) are trying to organise a similar trail event on private land but can't get national to sent a copy of the insurance document so good luck. The other is through the ACU and have a permit for the event but I'm not sure if the TRF affiliated with the ACU

Hi

As there is an Exec Meeting on Sunday - it might be an idea to speak to your Group Reps who will be able to get you the information you are after.

Not all members of the Devon Group visit this forum - if you want to drop me an email at debbiehutchy@btinternet.com, I'll put you in touch with our Events Co-ordintor who can advise.

Regards

Debbie

:P Hi,
Many thanks for your replies. It seems that we will have great difficulty getting cover for our event. Only being a small club [65ish members] and being non competitive going down the ACU route would be not worth it.Much to expensive for the odd event we put on.
Having had a chat with John Heal [Devon chairman ] we came to the conclusion that as long as we do a risk assmt with a disclaimer which is backed up with a briefing beforehand we should be ok. If however anyone out there has a better solution please get in touch. It would be a shame to miss this opportunity to encourage possible new Trail riders not to mention the spin off possibilities from this inter club liason.
