Returning member here after a long absence. Used to go to the TV Group meetings and I see they are still listed in the basic Group list, but from the big list with all the Groups' details, they are entirely missing.

Am I missing something? Where can I find out current info about the Thames Valley Group?

Yes, I am aware of that Group, but what's happened to the Thames Valley Group?

Yes, I used to be a member of that group about 25 years ago; they used to meet in Staines IIRC. The nearest group to me now is Herts, but it's 50 miles to where they meet up before a ride out and I haven't been able to make it for over a year since I rejoined - need a trailer really.

I used to ride around Maidenhead and Knowl Hill regularly, but the RUPP's (as they used to be called) are all RB's now!

I intend on doing some research of the Bucks area soon; if you are close to me, maybe we could arrange a ride out?

Yes, I was a member about that same time. We used to meet at a pub on the A30 between Hounslow and as you say, Staines.

But where are they now? The TRF website lists them as a Group, but with no links. Do they still actually exist? If not, I guess Lodden Vale would be my best option otherwise, but they started as an offshoot of the Thames Valley Group. So what happened to them?

I was Treasurer of the TVG for several years, as I recall the group pretty much folded around 2005. Having said that, I've recently started trail riding with a bunch of ex-TVG members (non TRF members) and if you fancy joining us send me a PM.

Not may lanes in Bucks I'm afraid. There are a few South of Princes Risborough totalling about 2 miles, one graded one in Chesham, a very small lane at The Lee near Chesham, and that's about it! The rest have become RB's or got permanent TRO's.
I have to travel to Herts, Beds, Essex or West Berks and Wiltshire to get to any decent lanes.

Need to sort out the carrier for the rear of the car, but then yes, I may well do that.

Do you remember Kate who used to be a member and ride regularly? She was at one time an officer of the group, ROW maybe? She eventually left the UK to work in somewhere like Turkey and I lost touch. This was in the late 70s, early 80s. Or is that going back too far?

Gosh that's going back a bit! I think I joined around 1996, at that point the longest serving members were probably a pair of brothers called Read.

Too long ago for me; I was a member in the mid-80's; to be honest, I can't remember anyone's names except the guy who introduced me to the club, J. Clark.
