I've just heard the sad news of Brian Thompsons passing. He will be sorely missed by ALL trail riders. What he did for trail riding is legendary, too much to mention here. I met him several times in the 70s when I was starting out in trail riding and setting up the Glos.group.He gave me a lot of good advice and helped me a lot with ROW issues. What he did'nt know about ROW law was.nt worth knowing. He was quite a character and although he upset a few people along the way his heart was in the right place. I saw him once trail riding on a scooter!! Talk about hard work, but that was Brian. You could say he was one of the founding fathers of trail riding as we know it today. The TRF and trail riders as a whole have a huge lot to thank Brian for
My sympathy to his family and close friends.I feel honoured to have known him ,albeit briefly.
Dave Rolfe.

Yes, sad news indeed. I never met him but felt I got to know him through all the articles he wrote about trail riding.

Was it sudden or had he been ill? Just the foreword in the latest Trail mag. No details.
