Hi to all you out there in the frozen wasteland that is now England,it is with some regret i must give notice to anyone booked for our christmas run that i have postponed the event until early january, notices on local radio stations warn of 3 major roads and ALL minor rural roads in the North York Moors closed, with the big freeze continuing for the near future it would be folly to proceed with the run

Shame it had to be cancelled but there is some serious deep snow out there!
I will be joining in Jan as a full member instead of just a 'forum' member - not looking forward to kissing the chickens bottom but will be a breath of fresh air from all the turkey over the next month.
Will put my name down for the run so long as it is not too strenuous for an old newbie!

ironically the weekend it should have been (11th dec) was when all the snow melted and it would have been perfect for it!

Hi Mauser on the weekend of the run i contacted the pub we use

1 A member of staff had been snowed in to the pub for 4 days,he lived half a milefromthe pub
2the landlady at that time had fuel for 3 days with no prospect of a lorry getting to her that week
3 a shooting party trying to get to the pub were snowed in on route
then there is the safety of solo riders getting home to consider no ride out is worth the risks involved using the ROADS nevermind trying to find a trail that was not under 6 foot of snow
