Hi there ,
I am new to the site . I am getting my boys a quad for Xmas and seeing if there is somewhere in Essex to go . Would love a green lane to take them . . How do I find the maps what show me where to go .
Thanks

Hello and welcome from East Sussex

Good old fashioned maps help with modern use of your county councils interactive ROW map which will be up to date as to whats open or not for legal use of green roads if your boys are old enough and road legal which I originally assumed as we have some quad riders about.

Edit......Seen post about ages, so no Green Roads for them.......see later posts

Not too sure of their age but unless its a road legal quad and they have a licence and insurance your options are really limited to privately run sites.

Green lanes are the same as any tarmac road regarding who and what can use them.

Place for the kids to play might need a google pay and play search. Maps for byways will be of no use.

Private land owner friend?

For when you and your brother get your bikes, assuming road legal

Think you might have problems finding somewhere which runs a pay n play site (the ONLY LEGAL way) for your sons, as quite a few have lower age limits for users (H&S/ insurance requirements)

As already explained, Byways and other vehicular rights of ways are classed as ROADS, and as such require exactly the same requirements in law as the road outside your house, into your town etc. Maybe's worth doing a facebook/google search for any such pay n play sites local to you.

All the best
