MINUTES OF HEREFORDSHIRE GROUP TRF (HTRF) MEETING
1 AUG 17

1. Intro.  Gray welcomed all, then confirmed the very sad news of Jim Walters tragic death. Jim, our Treasurer, was well known to most in the room and proved to be great friend to all. He devoted a great deal of time, effort and indeed financial help to many, and was a pivotal member of the HTRF. He was generous to a fault. He’ll be greatly missed. There followed a minutes silence. It is understood that his funeral will be within 2 weeks. Intent is to provide a motorbike escort – family permitting.

2. Herefordshire Hospice Trail (HHT) – update (Gray/Tim).

Need to try fill place left by Jim, as Treasurer, not least with forthcoming HHT event. Harvey bravely stepped into the breach, ably assisted by Spike (as co-signatory at bank).
Jim also generously volunteered to provide various materiel for the HHT. Rob equally generously volunteered to provide stakes and rope.
16, now 20 pers, already booked places.
Group Leaders; need to cfm aval and to firm up indiv routes post detailed ground recces. Info TimB of updates pse.
Amended Action Plan to be issued shortly. All to read please.
Welcome Pack to be dispatched to all applicants shortly – thereby allowing preparations.

3. Report on Ride-Outs (Various).

Ongoing and numerous recces of HHT routes.
Lee and Dano continue their series of evening ride-outs (the degrading light hides Dano pushing his Husky – yet again!)

4. RoW (Nick D).

Fol query ref GRds to E & S of Llandovery, Nick D made contact with council. He can cfm that all routes are legal, indeed ORPAs. He expanded on ORPAs: they public rights of way not usually on Definitive Maps, hence need to approach Highways Depts. Certainly research needed to ensure route legal.
Also assisted Salop route. Report of landowner placing fence across GRd. GLASS involved. Council approached.
Begwns.  Smothered with old Radnorshire F Roads. Numerous reports of confusion over actual routes across moors. No markers. Even following F Rds/GRd accurately on ground with GPS doesn’t make Clyro. Farmer again stopped TRF rider (Kevin this time) but this GRd already checked by Nick D and confirmed as legal. The Hom, GR SO191448. Advise ride route S to N.

5. Future Ride-outs.

5 & 6 Aug. Recces for the HHT.
Sun 20 Aug. RV Walton 0930hrs. Gray leading. Incl Strata Florida. 120mls.

6. Raffle/Finance (Gray).

No raffle, all proceeds for Jim’s flowers/partner (cfmd as £90). Many thanks to all for their generosity and thoughtfulness.

7. AOB.

Usual top quality from our esteemed secretary....
I will not post up the Begwns F roads doc to a non-members forum as hearing the tales of 4x4 trashing on a couple of routes (luckily not too local) on Tues night fills me with fear....but that said, the last two editions of Adventure Bike Rider have featured routes over the long mynd..so who knows...
IF members want to PM me here then I will happily forward wot I have, indeed I am expecting contact from a rider on the night whose name escapes me....
Expect Gray to give a secrecy rant anytime soon 8-)

Hi All,
I'm new to the area in Drybrook and would love to come along on a green laning session.
I ride a WR250r and am a newbie to green laning.
Is there a dedicated contact for the TRF Herefordshire or do I just check the forum for ride out info?
TIA
