Very interesting Mario, Let me look at my diary. I know we have Hereford TRF members who are closer than me who might be willing to lead and of course if there was a Hereford members area I would post onto that!! My only concern is, to quote a member at our meeting on Tues last, "tearing the arse out of our backyard" with loads of riders on the same routes. But agree with the Idea, the more people that do this sort of stuff, the bigger the political voice, we've got a lot of catching up to do..... |

Attachment: hugg route.jpg [ 3.16 MiB | Viewed 12049 times ] Proved the route except Moity yesterday teatime - no issues. I would say that without nav stops do able in an hour if ye get organised about gate opening on mainly Pwlpperan and the WV walk sections. Road section back from WV walk to Clyro is a nice wide fast bit of A road so everybody can blow off steam. First green section is approx. 10 mins from Clyro court then they are all fairly close together. Lanes all in very good condition - even ciltrwch which has been graded since I last rode. Nice mix of surfaces too, some mud, tight pasture, poor tarmac, short rock steps, small ford; so very nice all round though I say so meself At eastern end of BEgwns it will be tempting to follow the metalled lane all the way to a dead end at the farm you do need to deviate to the west over an unsigned and fairly not obvious section of around 400m before it turns back into the metalled F road that it is. See arrow on photo above. In past, only one person likely to get arsey and that might be the resident at the farm at Pwllperran (3 gates to navigate at the farm end and a further 3 up the lane) but no issues for me yesterday..you can still see the rock he placed onto the road illegally by one of the gates. Fantastic views to be had if weather is good, hopefully photos give ye a flava......... Attachment: hugg5.JPG [ 1.99 MiB | Viewed 12049 times ] |

Meant to say that I didn't ride the Moity section yesterday as I needed to get home so if ye can get one of your volunteers to check it is ok (no reason why it shouldn't be but be aware it does run up adjacent to a dwelling at its southern end and is probably one of the slightly more invigorating of the lanes). Also be aware that there is a reasonable chance of meeting equestrians on the routes close to Clyro, I met 2 on the road at the E end of the Begwns yesterday. Sorry I cannot join ye to guide meself but have fun and stay safe - it is really a nice easy taster route with a bit of everything, easily extended too if time permits and you have maps. Have fun DS |
