I've been tarting up my newly acquired KTM 300 exc this week. Hopefully I'll be putting it all back together with a few additions tonight.

Just wondering if anyone was out tomorrow? I live in Westbury and was just planning on doing a few local trails for a few hours, nothing to hard going. I'm new to the unsurfaced roads.

It's little way from you but me and few mates are riding the fosse way from where it crosses the M4 to kemble airport on sunday. We're meeting at the saluation inn carpark at about 10 am.

let us know if you're up for it

The Sally on the right hand side as you drop into 'The Gibb?' I know Darren's pub all too well being part of the Wiltshire Bikers.

I could be up for that, I'll let you know tomorrow if thats ok. All depends how I'm feeling after tomorrow's ride.

I'd be really interested in what the condition of the kemble end of the Fosse Way is, last time I was down there it had not long been graded so was a tad to easy really.

Guys,

The area around here has been damaged by some 4x4 idiots - you'll see what I mean when you get there - trees ripped out (with winch marks), the banks of the river wrecked - its a real mess.

As a family we use this area on foot and by bike as well and it was a real shame to see this.

The byway is still useable so please just ride on through.

If you do happen to see anyone off the byway in this area I would be happy to pass on any reg numbers - be careful tho - I know of other riders being threatened by said idiots there.

Thanks

DL

Heres a link to the area I am talking about.

I was down there on the monday after xmas, don't remember noticing anything really bad, apart from the second rutteed (created by 4x4s) path to go through the river rather than using the bridge.

Didn't stop to observe tho as the whole are was covered in ice.

Is this recent damage??

Thanks for the offer guys but I don't think I'm going to make it out tomorrow. I've been out riding with Tony and Bob from the Bristol group all day today, I think it's going to take me atleast a week to recover.

Thanks guys for putting up with me all day :D

Yes I think it must be. I last went down there in October and it was nowhere near as bad.

Park on the bridge, walk back up the hill (south) and have a look down towards the river.

The problem with damage like this is its done by a few numpties in 4x4's, the public (rightly) complain and then a TRO is slapped on the area that affects us all.

I don't think you would see a motorbike pulling one of those concrete sharks teeth into the water.

Sorry ranting on - it just winds me up thinking of it

and breathe ........
