Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself.
I'd been tempted to get a trailee since doing a CCM factory rideout in the peaks some years ago.
Well I finally p/xed my road bike for a MX and thought I'd join the TRF to meet other riders in the area and locate nearby routes.

I'll naturally be going along on the next Kent monthly ride in Sept.
In the meantime I'm keen to hit the trail for gentle evening/weekend bimbles with other novice rider(s).
Am based in Chislehurst, Kent, so drop me a msg on here if you'd like to meetup.

cheers,
Darren

Have you guys applied for permits to ride the lanes that require permits in kent?

If not here you go

Is there many lanes up in the north east?

thanks for the greets 'guys' I naively presume!

@Bushwhacker, thanks for the link to the Kent permit. I'm a little wary that registering myself and my bike (they want an awful lot of details) puts me on the council's radar?! Don't get me wrong, I ride legally, but prefer to hide amongst the crowd. Maybe I'm just paranoid?

@Red, hey, how are you getting on with your CRF250L? I bought the same bike a week ago, still running it in. Made any upgrades?

I have the Kent permits, yes a lot of details required, but all positive rather than lose the lanes.

I have done a few bits to the tyres, front sprocket, hand guards, gear lever and tail tidy on the Honda. Only done a couple of days out, but its no WR400F but its good enough although I need to ride differently.

On reflection I probably will get the permit, if only to ride those 3 restricted boats.
It's really quite disappointing how few legal routes there are in Kent. I imagine the situation is much better in the north or even Wales?

@Red, I've got to ask.. why a CRF from a YR400? Well ok, apart from the leccy starter & fuel injection ;)
I come from a zx6r so I really feel the lack of power, but to be fair I knew that before I bought it. Maybe my memory is bad, but it doesn't feel more powerful than my DT125 from 20 years ago! I am considering de-restricting it, but wouldn't know where to begin. I will probably post a new thread on that topic..
