Hi all,
I've been looking on an os map at hay on wye and it seem to have loads of green lanes.
Does anyone live there or ride there regularly that could show me and a couple of other fellow trf members about the area sometime?
Cheers
Dayne

Have you tried to contact your local group here

http://www.trf.org.uk/forum/ Always best to call & not rely on email /forum for some groups

and also perhaps post in the groups sections in the appropriate part.

Let us know if you have not had a response and we will give them a gentle reminder

Regards

I'm not sure what region the area would come under? Maybe South Wales?
I was hoping that someone from that area or someone who has ridden the area before would get in touch.
I'll ask in the South Wales group or maybe plan a route on an os map and spend the day exploring.
Cheers

It's worth checking out the local county councils website as well. Good luck. It's a beautiful part of the UK.

Hay on Wye is Herefordshire and they don't seem to have a group.

However I plan exploring that area some time soon Dayne... Lots of Byways on the map at least...

Spent a lot of time drowning maggots in the river Wye and love the countryside. Never seen any Byways so would be very interested to hear what there is. Is the local council Highways dept sympathetic or are they another Derbyshire?

I have never looked at the map for Herefordshire, but I'm sure if there were any good routes, I would know about them.
Go west from Hay on Wye into Wales, and there's loads to ride!

Nothing long and extended in herefordshire but if you know where to look you can make a day out of several nice shortish lanes.

As for Hay on Wye loads of ORPAS but locals are generally pretty anti owing to historical hooning over the Begwns a decade ago that ultimately had the police helicopter up, not helped by the attitude of Powys CC.
Classic upland routes are doctors pool, black yatt and tom tobacco with loads of shorter but interesting and muddy surrounding routes.

PM me if interested. And if you're looking for the secret door you can't 'cos I've hidden it.
