Hi all,
I have just joined the TRF, as I think it will help me to find people to ride around and get info about the green lanes.
I started riding when I was young, and left it for more than 15 years, but I always loved it, so now I have been able to get my CBT and a bike.
I ride a 125 Varadero... yes, I know it is not a very good off-road bike, but right now I mainly ride on the black stuff.
I would like to start with easy off-road rides around where I live... anyone fancy riding with me?
Take care.
Kind regards,
Gonzalo

Hi there. I'm from Chandlers Ford and just about to start on the off road/trail riding. Been off the road for a few years and getting back on to wheels but without so much of the road stuff.. Some one will be along to recommend which TRF group to but the nearest is Eastleigh across the road from Halfords/Commet etc.. Think they meet on the 4th Thursday of each month. Have a search on here for them.

Best wishes

Myles

Hi Myles,
I think it is the Southern group you are talking about. I will try to log into their forum once I get my Membership Number.
Thanks for the info anyway, and once you are ready to ride get in touch.
I am planning to try to find a green lane near Salisbury on Saturday...
Kind regards,
Gonzalo

Hi fellas,

I have recently joined and have tried to join the southern group and have not had any joy.
Ive emailed the administrator to no avail. Have you had a similar experience or are you in.

Have you been out and about yet?

Justin

Hi Justin,

I think I have the same issue, but I just hope it is a matter of time.
Some time after I joined I received the letter with my Memership ID and so on. I used that number in order to request for registration in the Southern group forum (http://www.southern-trf.org.uk/), but I haven't received any email as confirmation. I have tried again, but my user is still not active there.

I know they meet on the 3rd Thursday each month, in front of the Halfords in Eastleigh, but I am working up in London all the week.

I have been riding green lanes the last two weekends. The first one was ok, just a lot of pools, but the second one it was a tricky one (and I am a noob with a road bike). I was just able to do it , but I think I shouldn't ride alone. You can have an issue and then a fun day will become a very bad day...

Are you planning to ride this weekend? If so perhaps we can ride together.

Kind regards,

Gonzalo

Hi,

Unable to get this weekend, but maybe next.
Where do you head out as I don't really no many places?
That is why I'm so keen to enrol in the southern group to get a few ideas nd do a few ride outs with some long timers.

Justin

Hi,
It is going to be difficult for me as well this weekend...
I use to plan using the map in http://bywaymap.com/ I found it in a thread in this forum.
It is updated by users, and so not perfect, but it is easy and a good guide for me.
This is a link to the RoW in Hampshire: http://whereilive.hants.gov.uk/rightsof ... form1.aspx
It is the proper way of checking, but not so easy to use.
If you want I can send you some info about the green lanes I have already ridden....
Kind regards,
Gonzalo

Hi Justin,

No, no luck at all yet, I am afraid.

And you? Did you receive any answer to your email? I thik I should also try to do it that way.

Kind regards,

Gonzalo
