I do not think it is wise to post comment or opinion on ongoing court cases.

Well, somebody must have an opinion considering he's been charged with manslaughter of one rider and actual bodily harm to another. This seems to exclude whatever motoring offences he may or may not be guilty of.

Then you shouldn't do it.

As for me I'm old enough and ugly enough to make up my own mind as to whether stating my opinion "throw the key away" is wise or not.

One to watch.

It would be handy to know where the incident took place. It may well be the case that provision in the locality is poor, what provision there is hasn't been signposted or is signed incorrectly. There may be lanes awaiting investigation.

BBC report atates that the incident occured on Mr Wolfes land at Sunwood farm:

http://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/maps/inde ... 3,-0.92368,

A BOAT heads East from there and becomes RB at county boundary (acccording to ever unreliable OS)

That's interesting, I know this route although haven't ridden there for many years and the legal trails are very distinct tracks between hedges/fences (and signposted as they form the South Downs Way here) so it would be difficult to stray on to the adjacent fields without realising you were off route.

The byways to the west become a "yellow road" (which was always unsurfaced in my day) leading down to the farm (with a very distinct byway heading downhill to the north ) and does continue east as an RB from the farm but also as tarmac road (the one headed north) See the route HERE

Of course the reporting could be a fault as the lanes (County Road, Byway and RB) do run "across fields" although from memory all are very clearly fenced.

My point is that any post published whilst court proceedings are "live" which has the potential to influence a juror by implying guilt or otherwise undermining a fair trial runs a risk of being CONTEMPT OF COURT. I am uncertain whether your comment meets this criteria or not but any post that invites or encourages comments on live legal proceedings within the UK is highly irresponsible.

I'm no lawyer but I think that the jurors will have been warned against reading the newspapers, listening to the news or scouring the internet for material connected to the case. I think the difficulty is for the juror rather than us.

I shall throw caution to the wind and, despite knowing nothing about the case other than what's reported her, say that I think the farmer should be banished!
