Well thank you for your useless and frankly rude input
No i didn’t expect anyone to just ring me up
i didn’t think wanting to ride responsible was classed as milking it
And sorry but im not interested in going to meetings as i already have a busy life
And to be honest im not looking to join any groups to follow on the trails to find out where is now closed
But what i am expecting id info on what tracks that were open now aren’t
And where to find this info
i paid my £45 donation but i wasn’t a wear it was a requirement for me to be a full time active member
all i want is to be sure I’m not breaking the law when off road and also causing a nuisance
But to be honest if this is the attitude you get from trying to be responsible i think i will just have my money back thanks

Replies 4 & 5 explained how to get info on local lanes and closures. Not sure what else you want to know, if you are not willing or able to attend a local group meeting now & then, then you are welcome to join one of the local group Facebook pages where you will find info on upcoming rides and events.

Dixon, most people are very helpful, each in their own way on providing information.

As I understand it the TRF is about conserving our green roads, it is not a riding club. It won't tell you about roads in dispute or where closures are being put in place due.

Councils now have a lot if info on their sites that is the best way to keep up to date. It will list byways and any closures or restrictions that are currently in place.

Otherwise it's an old fashioned map and then see if any physical signage when you get there.

When your membership comes through you will get a "key" to trailwise" which is a map of the byways, so yes TRF will provide this, it's just not up to-date which is what you are asking for, so revert back to council or physically go out and see.

So your not interested in group meetings, or riding with other members, you paid your £45 to be told what’s opened and what’s closed and your peed off because you have rejected the previous responses which directed you to the information as being unhelpful.

Which bit of Fellowship was misunderstood.

You get out what you put in.

Sorry if you found my response rude but I tell it like it is.

this is a disgraceful response to a new member who for whatever reason is not yet in reciept of his joining pack.

there is no pre requisit to join a group or volunteer to help run the club.

Dixon

Red has given you a contact address, i am sure that there has been an honest mistake or simply Sharon has been on holiday and is now playing catch up. Feel free to contact her direct otherwise write to Carla the membership director. You have been given some pointers and contact in your area and i know the guys there will bend over to extend to you the help you need.

If ever you are riding in Cambridgeshire give me a call and i will help you where i can.

Have to agree with Mike. Shitty replies don't do anyone any favours.

Teeside and North Yorkshire group are a friendly bunch and will help as much as possible with getting riders out, either accompanied or otherwise. Leo has already pointed you in the direction of NYCC maps, Scott has also directed the OP to Facebook.

OP once you get your membership status sorted it really is worth making the effort to pop down to Thirsk for a meeting & introducing yourself, if you take paper maps along Leo or Martin will help you mark them up. If you want to find like minded souls to ride out with then you will as TNYTRF still follow the Fellowship model.

Cheers, Craig
