Hello All

Long story short.......out last weekend (27/08), picked up nail in rear tyre (first motorcycle puncture in over 40 years of riding), green slime did not work, recovered by AA...day ruined.

Michelin Bib Mouses and new Michelin Comp tyres installed, out this weekend and bike handles better than ever, off road (not so good on road). No more worries of punctures.

I know that the Mousses can be expensive, but surely it is better than changing tubes 'in the field'?

Cheers

Peter

Just so long as you accept they are illegal for road use...see endless previous threads on the subject.

I wish to be aligned wirh the comments of Mr Lacey who is clearly a pragmatist, not an optimist.

Anyway, the spare tube will also get punctured while trying to force a rigid sidewalled tyre onto a frozen rim in freezing rain.

True it may take time to replace rather than repair, but the fact still remains that Mousses are not for highway use although lots will say how they avoid the eyes of the law.

I have had a recent puncture on the trail, and lucky to be taken to a local dealer to use thier facilities, all legal as we should be.

I dont wont to get on again about the legal debate, mousses, lots use them and swear by them

Mousses feel very differently to tubes,as it's unsprung weight,I dropped a tooth on the front sprocket to compensate, also I got about three months out of a rear (,winx) the road work killed it.i am presently running a front mousse and a rear tube,I like the dead feeling up front as it tracks better in rocks and doesn't bobble,I carry a spare rear tube as a front tube does not work in the rear, despite what people may tell you,I had three fronts in a rear in one afternoon, the last one stranded me.
