I have a n Ex MOD 110 Defender 1994 with the old 2.5 diesel and i need the engine number to register it for the road. Anyone know where i will find it. Cursory look under the bonnet and nothing obvious, don't recognise anything on the plate on the drivers seat. so i wondering that with what seems like 30 coats of paint it might have been painted over. any idea's where i should start looking please |

Try looking on the LHS of the engine by the exhaust manifold somewhere behind the top fan belt pulley. There is also the possibility of a VIN-type plate somewhere on the timing cover. |
