Hi, I discovered the TRF last night. I'm in the process of selling a typical road bike, and changing for a CRF250, my first trail bike for about 25 years. I'm hoping it will take me back to my youth and be a slightly more grown up version of the DT125 that I enjoyed as a kid. I didn't join the TRF yet, I'm a number of weeks off having a bike, but I wanted to say hi, and get to know a few people here, perhaps some in and around Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire etc. Please tell me if there's a local group and if you have any social meetings as well as rideouts

Many Thanks

Paul

After clicking the TRF logo you will see 3 small YELLOW lines top right, click on these for a drop down menu, the groups are on there.

Thanks very much, I'll take a look in a mo.

Is trail riding more of a year-round sport than more typical road riding ?

It certainly is, you'll obviously need the right gear and with that year round riding is not only possible but very enjoyable :D

Oh...and a warm welcome from Devon 8-)

Hi Paul, as with all things, it's a personal choice, it all depends on your riding mates and how good your winter riding gear is.

Good stuff. It's not something I've ever tried. I watched the video "100 walkers / 100 horse riders" somewhere on the website, that's the most I've seen of the varied places that you guys go, and it looks awesome

Hello and welcome from East Yorks trf , once you get sorted with a bike get yourself out there, try to contact your local group as they will hopefully introduce you to your local legal lanes and scoop you up when the inevitable happens, its best to ride in a small group . Hopefully if you post up your rough area someone will be along to introduce themselves .
Enjoy ........Julian E Yorks trf group rep :ugeek:
