I'm wondering about picking up a motocross style helmet with a flip visor to negate the need for goggles. Any recommendations?

I use a wulfsport prima speed, as shown here on ebay:

For the money I don't think you can beat it, I have used it a few times and can't fault it. It even has a flip down sun visor as well as the normal flip down visor

I had an Airoh S4 which served me well for 4 years or so.
The S5 replacement is as rare as hens teeth so inhale up on finding one to try first.

Changed to the Wulf as above but, purely for me, it gave me a splitting headache with a pressure point on my, presumably, odd shaped head. Not noticed until half an hour of wearing.
I wouldn't put you off though as it was probably me that is a weird shape and it is a good helmet but a tad noisy. For the money, it's fantastic value.

I've now gone for a Shoei Hornet and it's a great lid but a lot more money.
The Pinlock is useless though.

Take a look at the Bell MX-9 adventure helmet. £149.
Quality helmet manufacturer at a reasonable price.

I thought that about the Bell...last time I looked all Bell helmets tested had won 5* Sharp ratings...more than can be said for the Shoei and Arai ranges.

I've got the Arai dual-sport helmet...it was v.expensive and it took a long time to get truly comfortable. I'm still not sure whether my head changed the shape of it, or it changed the shape of my head!

The visor mists up more than I would like, and costs about £50 a time to replace...but is optically 100% and very scratch-resistant.

I have a Wulfsport Prima too
The earlier model (but still available) with no sun visor.

Very comfy and fairly light (lighter than the newer one with the sun screen)

Warning though, that the visor on mine is not good, it is shaped to the helmet, so has two (almost) creases down the front. You get used to this at road speeds, as you look through it, but a slow, technical speeds, they are intrusive.
I ride visor down on the road, but have on safety specs at all times. I usually remember to flick up the visor as I enter a lane, but sometimes I forget and I'm then too busy trying to stay vaguely upright to flick up the visor!!

That does look like good value. If I headbutt the Tarmac (or tree!), am I still going to have a head?!
