Hi,

I'm returning to the lanes after 25 years!

I've just joined the TRF and this is my first post. I live in Portishead and will try to get along to the Windmill for an Axe Vale meet soon.

I've bought a TS 200R, here it is having just picked it up -

It ran and sounded quite good but I suspected something was wrong. I was right, it's in bits at the mo' getting a top end rebuild having dropped a power valve into the cyclinder. Thankfully, only nicked the top of the piston. Hopefully, it will be up and running in a couple of weeks.

In the 1980's I did a lot of green lane motorcycling and organised a couple of informal events. Here's a few pictures showing the bikes I used including -

Kawasaki KL250, an old nail but rarely let me down.
Suzuki TS250ER, it was old even then.
Kawasaki KMX200, great bike for green laning.
Yamaha DT125LC, with the power valve turned up almost as good as the KMX

Anyone recognise the lanes or even the riders? Most of the lanes were RUPPS and are restricted byways now :( so I guess I'll have to look elsewhere to ride :D

Hi Jaz,

I too had a KL250 and a TS250ER in the same colours as yours. I recognise some of the lanes in your photos, one of which is now a RB but one is a Byway and has a much firmer surface nowadays

cheers, Bob.
