Are there any volunteers to help with transport of TRF Marketing show materials. We need - a bootful of materials- gazebo sides, banners and posters taken 1. from Norwich to Herts/ North London area before Monday 24th July 2. from Herts to Eddie Evans in Chester /N Wales for 1st August 3. Return from Eddie from Llangollen to Herts any time from end of Sunday 6th August Happy to pay for fuel etc as long as it cheaper than a courier. Many thanks Mario 07721 480000 |

Insurance? What happens to any liability for loss/damage to 'goods in transit' - the member or the TRF? Business insurance parameters? |

As with all volunteers offering their time, volunteering for the TRF will not leave them out of pocket. The items remain the responsibility of the TRF to cover any risk - which is exactly why we are asking for volunteer delivery rather than using a courier |

Providing you are not carrying the goods for 'hire and reward' or another 'business purpose' you should be covered by your motor insurance for the journey. The risk to the goods themselves is taken by the consignor...in this case the TRF. They can arrange 'goods in transit' cover if they wish. What constitutes 'hire and reward'? A reimbursement that exceeds expenses. What are the expenses? HMRC allows 45p/mile as the running cost of a car. When I transported the van locker safe thing for Mario, I didn't charge as I was going that way on a business trip anyway. Ideally, I expect we'd want someone who could do the same. |
