hi
due to a back injury, I need to give my GSA a bit of rest.
Instead, I am after a lighter bike mainly for my daily commute (5 miles)
Weekends, it should be capable to get me to the lanes (10-15 miles away) and back.
I'm not a mechanic and due to family have very little time for maintenance, thus that is a consideration as well.

Any suggestions: WR250, KTM, honda, ?

thanks
Ben

Honda 250L, Kawasaki KLX250.

Honda better on the road, Kawa better off it.

Don't get a KTM as a commuter, high-maintenance thief-magnet.

Try a ride on the Honda CRF250L.

If I had to replace my R1200 and lighter trail bikes I would still keep the CRF250L as the one bike that can do everything.

A Yam WR250R. Dual purpose. Brilliant bike. Better off road capability than the CRF250L. You'll only find these second hand, they are in production, big in the US but not retailed in U.K. any longer.

+1 For the WR250R... leaves the CRF250L in it's dust :D

KTM 690 enduro would be fine, if you want something a bit bigger

Mmmm. Have a look at the SWM RS650R. Had one for a few weeks now. 600cc, great road manners, can put the Mrs on the back and poodle at 70 on motorway......
Or it'll ride smoothly on the green roads. So, I'm chuffed to bits with it:)

Read the review on brake magazine. Liked it.
Seems a lot of bike for the money.
Not looking at KTMs (no offence) as they are a thief magnet around London.
Prefer something less obvious ;)

Where did you get the SWM from?

The SWM came from Haybals? In Sailsbury. They allowed me a test ride on a demo.
I'm based in Guildford if you want to have a look and a quick ride....
