Hi All

I have recently purchased a 2004 WR450f that has had an aftermarket can fitted. I would like to put an original back so that the bike runs quieter.

Does anybody have/know of anybody that has one they might want to sell.

Regards
Pete

Not sure how well they work, but are you able to fit a decibel killer in the end.
I think they need a min 28mm dia outlet to be able to fit.

Alternatively, if you say what make the existing can is, someone may be able to tell you how to repack it.

As you've probably found out, Yamaha will probably want a small fortune for a new one.

I did the same with a crf Honda and bought an original for just £40 off ebay.

Kind regards

Russell.

Hi Folks

Just to let you know I now have an original can fitted. Much smoother and quieter.
Thanks to you all for your comments especially those who went the trouble of looking in the shed.

Pete

The main reasons for it not starting correctly and running really rough were the after market can and the fact that it had been sitting in a garage for a couple of years. The jets had been changed but not set up correctly for the new can and they also had some muck in them. I did a straight swop with a chap who wanted a lot more noise. All this has now been reverted back to how it came out the factory.

My machine now runs much more smoothly ( have only ridden it home from the garage approx 3m ) and so quiet compared to before.
Hopefully much more green lane friendly !!

Good that you was able to do a straight swap.
