The brother in law is after one ,selling road bike and crf .he was asking if you use one set of tyres for all year or do you have a spare set for the road? As I can't see the tyres doing 70-80 on roads then doing some heavy off road ?.??

I don't get the negativity about the looks of the 690. Ok, the 701 is a nice looking bike but I am more than happy with the look of my 690.

I'm on used MT21's and they have been fine up to 80ish on tarmac (on a private road obviously) but still grip well on the lanes.
I will renew them for winter though as the blocks are wearing.
I am probably doing 90% road even though they are knobblies but having more fun than the last couple of years on my 950 SM.

Thanks
Are there any differences between the 701 supermoto and the enduro apart from the wheels?.?

Front brake rotor and calliper mount probably. Possibly internal gear ratios, Ecu map, fork length and spring rates.

That said it's probably just the wheels. Look online and compare the spec and tech data sheets.

Good point about the front brakes.
Mine on the 690 is good for trail riding but can be a bit wanting at road speeds. Need to investigate methinks as the previous owner had some very weird ideas on how to set a bike up (rigid with virtually no sag so unrideable off road until set properly).

Set it to the usual default of 100-110mm sag set all the clickers to 15 out and work from there.

Good old Freestyles did an emergeny drift jobbie to standard two days before we went to Wales and all my settings were already on comfort and it's feels fine now.
It was so stiff that even riding off a kerb hopped the back wheel. Even a single root flicked the back wheel in the air.

Checked the stats.different set up on shocks, not sure one the engine map,but I would think so.ive a duke 690 and that engine is the same as enduro but I'd think it was to much power for trails . I'm sure I'll be proved wrong though!!

It's all in the wrist control.
There is a three stage ecu map on the 690 but I found the middle and soft settings too fluffy and prone to stall on pull away so I've left it on full oomph and it's much better.

I'm certainly no riding god but find it easy enough to ride plus it's great fun on the road rather than torture.
