Let us know how you get on Richy as I say it's quite steep for someone new to trail riding on a GS1200, I have been riding it for about twentyfive years on all sorts of bikes so I think I'm qualified to advise ;)

hi mate the lane you mention is a legal right of way,i ride i ride it most weeks on yamaha tenere 660,done it once on my gs 1200,bit of a struggle up bank from buxton end,other way down bank from goyt valley is easier on your beemer.if ever want a trip round derbyshire area give me a bell,i no alot of lanes which area big bike friendly

I know I'm replying to an old post, but I've just joined after chatting to the TRF guys at the NEC (really helpful and friendly people).

The lane in question was my first off road ride on my KTM 990. As has been said going towards Buxton is easier, the steep bit near the end was thought provoking. Though I did do it in both direction, and fell off 3 times!
