Had a 1050 in orange from new in 2009, then end of 2012 swapped it for 800 Roadie...not been off road at all though, that's what the ktm is for plus ever so slightly easier to pick up :? ...i was initially worried about going from 1050 to 800 power wise but the engine is a gem and i just need a few more revs to get it to do the same thing as the slightly heavier although prettier 1050

Quite a few then. I absolutely love my 1050. I had a VFR800 before it and that was a cracking bike, but the Tiger will do everything the VFR was capable of and then some.
It really suits the roads up in the highlands nice tall riding position, comfortable on the backside and wrists. Stonking motor with bags of grunt.
I'm looking forward to another cross border raid, but I really need to get across the channel at some point.

Cubber, your cub is class.

Got the tiger 1050 sport - after having an 800 roadie for 2 years, but finding it lacking a tad

Late reply Paul, but what is it about the 1050 that you find lacking. I can't fault mine

I have an 800xc. I have never ridden it off tarmac as I also have trail and trial bikes that I use for that, but I would like to give it a go on some gentle lanes to see how it performs. Just checked out the C2C link earlier on the thread and that looks great...

I had a 2008 1050, loved it to bits! Toured very well kitted up and hustled when needed. Only downside was the very soggy stock suspension.

I now have a 2012 Explorer - it's the bollocks!!
